We are looking for Product Engineer to Technical Management, Small & Medium Bore engines.

Wärtsilä target position is shaping the decarbonisation of Marine and Energy. For Technical Management this means that new skilled people are needed to support new engine advanced products. You will be part of a group, with good team spirit of highly skilled and motivated professionals managing challenging technical issues with engines. 
 

In this position you will have possibility to use and improve your skills in several areas (e.g leadership and technical skills) when co-operating with different people and organisations. As Product engineer you will manage technical support starting from sales and continuing through whole lifecycle of the products. Product Engineer role includes sales support, safety & engine compliance related technical evaluations and more.
 

Depending on the candidates experience the position title will be specifically defined. Location Finland, Smart Technology Hub (Vaasa).

What you will be doing: 

• Manage the assigned tasks / areas for supporting our internal stakeholders in RDE, Delivery Factories, Product Management and Marine and Energy Business sales
• Develop technical solutions and create plans together with Engines Platform Development and implementation of new features to engines.
• Take responsibility to secure efficient documentation and sales support for the active portfolio.
   

Requirements:  
 

• BSc or MSc in Mechanical or similar
• Minimum 3 years of experience with diesel and/or gas engines or some other technical field
• Engine technical or designer skills
• Problems solving and solution finding skills
• Risk management skills
• Good positive drive and ability to work both independently and in teams  
• Good communication and co-operation skills
• Good command of English, both oral and written
• Project Engineer/Manager experience seen as benefit
• Knowledge of Wärtsilä business seen as benefit
• Finnish language skills seen as benefit
