This is a full-time position for someone with previous experience in a similar position, ideally as an in-house counsel in the software industry. As a member of the RELEX Legal Team, you will be working closely with many stakeholders throughout the company providing relevant legal advice, drafting documents and developing contracting processes & best practices. You will also interact with RELEX’s customers and partners, negotiating contract terms and helping your team to achieve optimal outcome.</p> <p>A strong candidate will be able to ramp up quickly and work independently. We are looking for a pragmatic problem solver who has a drive for continuous learning and development. You have a passion for helping business and your colleagues to succeed. Since contracting is the focus area, you need solid contract drafting and negotiations skills in order to succeed in this role. You need to be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and will need to have the ability to efficiently manage a large volume of contract documents.</p> <p>This role is located in Helsinki, Finland or in other RELEX locations in Europe (e.g. Germany, France, Spain, UK). </p> <p><strong>Contracting Counsel Tasks:</strong></p> <ul> <li>You will be supporting other relexians in contracting, including:</li> <ul> <li>Providing legal support to our global sales team and customer operations team in negotiating and drafting customer agreements (SaaS and professional services)</li> <li>Supporting other teams in drafting and negotiating agreements with RELEX’s vendors and partners</li> </ul> <li>You will help developing contracting best practices, templates and processes, and support in the implementation of relevant software tools. </li> <li>You will support in creating FAQs and training relating to contract templates and contracting processes.</li> <li>You may be providing legal support in other issues relevant to software business, depending on your skills and experience.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Legal degree with excellent academic credentials</li> <li>At least 3-5 years of relevant work experience, either as an in-house counsel or combination of law firm and in-house experience</li> <li>Excellent oral and written communications skills</li> <li>Strong analytical skills and problem solving ability</li> <li>Passion for contract drafting and negotiations; solid contract drafting and negotiation skills, including software licenses and SaaS agreements</li> <li>Experience in software business and good understanding of legal issues relevant to the business</li> <li>Experience in supporting sales teams in contract negotiations</li> <li>Eagerness to learn new and take on new challenges</li> <li>Ability and passion to provide excellent, user-friendly in-house service</li> <li>Comfortable using software tools beyond MS word and Outlook; interest in leveraging new technologies and software tools that help manage contracting work more efficiently </li> </ul> <p> <strong>Not required, but great bonus skills:</strong></p> <ul> <li>English is the main working language, but language skills in other languages relevant for our business is considered an advantage (e.g. German, French, Spanish)</li> <li>Previous experience in negotiating partner/alliance/procurement agreements with vendors and partners for a software company</li> <li>Previous experience in implementing a contract management system or other software tools that help in getting contracts done more efficiently</li> </ul> <p> <strong>What we offer:</strong></p> <ul> <li>A vibrant work environment that’s international and ambitious, but still relaxed and fun – colleague is a friend and life is supposed to be fun!</li> <li>Flexible working hours and the possibility to work partially remotely (*able/encouraged to work fully remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic until you are vaccinated or feel safe to visit the office)</li> <li>Challenging tasks that will help you develop your skillset, with the potential to take on more responsibility as you grow with the company</li> <li>Over 900 energetic, ambitious, fun colleagues</li> </ul> <p><strong>Are you the one we’re looking for?
