Load & Haul Division’s Turku plant within Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions is a global technology and manufacturing center for underground loading & hauling equipment for mining industry. Our Hydraulic & Powerline Technology team is currently looking for an innovative person for a role of Hydraulic Engineer. R&D/E center is located in Turku, Finland.

About the team

Hydraulic and Powerline team working as technology team for underground loaders and trucks. Team working in close co-operation with the internal and external stakeholders of different technology areas. Team development focus areas are engine, driveline and hydraulics of machines. Team participate to develop and support machine technologies of machines through the machine lifetime.

Your mission

Your role is to design hydraulic systems for underground loaders and trucks. As a Hydraulic Engineer, you will participate in the new product and the current product projects. Together with the other teams you will be responsible for the design and analysis of the necessary measurements. You will have responsible of components and you need to work in close cooperation with our component suppliers. If the projects require, you are willing to travel and visit the underground mines.

In addition you will support our production and the test run regarding hydraulics related matters. You will independently perform measurements and adjustments and give guidance to the others concerning these areas of expertise.

Your background

You have a Bachelor or Master of science degree in a related field, preferably in technology and have experience in mobile hydraulic engineering. It is an advantage if you have knowledge of hydraulic schematics design software, e.g. Automation Studio or E3 and 3D modelling software, e.g. NX. Good understanding of mechanics, control systems and simulation of hydraulic is regarded as a merit.

You have fluent communication skills both in Finnish and English. Proactive and systematic way of working and excellent skills in problem solving will be needed. You can work under pressure in the multicultural stakeholder environment.
