Parts and Field Service Business Unit Development (PFS BUD) supports the development and continuous improvement of the Parts and Field Service Business Unit in creating the strategic Roadmap to reach better business performance and capture new business opportunities.
PFS BUD supports the Business Unit in enhancing efficiency and continuous flow improvement through innovation, collaboration, digitalisation and a customer-centric approach on a global scale and in a safe environment. PFS BUD works as a business partner for many stakeholders in Marine Power, as well as Energy Services; cooperation, in fact, is the key to ensuring that new developments are successfully implemented.
We are now looking for a Product Owner to join our team. As a product owner, you will be responsible for defining and prioritising the features and requirements of the Wärtsilä Online and Commerce Digital products. You will work closely with the development team, the business stakeholders, and the end users to deliver value and quality in a timely manner. You will also communicate the product vision, roadmap, and progress to the relevant parties and ensure alignment with the business goals and strategy.
Position information:
The position is preferably located in a main Wärtsilä location within the European time zone. However, other locations can be considered.
What we do:
Digital Customer Experience, as part of PFS BUD, is a business partner enabling better coordination, alignment, and effectiveness in the digital development and investments for Wärtsilä Online, B2B integration, Product Data Management, and future customer experience enablers. On top of operating the day-to-day digital customer interactions, leads initiatives investing in data, technology, and digital interaction development to improve digital customer journeys and digital customer experience. The team operates the Wärtsilä Online platform, Commerce, and B2B integrations, as well as drives WPLM (Wärtsilä Product Lifecycle Management) operations and governance to follow the agreed best practices and ensure support to the Wärtsilä strategy.
What we offer:
Join the Digital Sales and Customer Experience development team in a highly strategic and central development role in moving to a new digital customer experience at Wärtsilä. As the Product Owner for Wärtsilä Online, you will establish the refined Online interactions within the vaster initiative to move to a more integrated digital customer experience on the Wärtsilä level. You navigate naturally in a corporation, have experience in prioritising work and understand the connection between business needs and technical requirements. This role reports to GM, Digital Sales and CX Development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the voice of the customer and the business line, translating their needs and expectations into clear and concise user stories and acceptance criteria
- Collaborate with the development team and provide feedback and guidance throughout the agile development process
- Prioritize and manage the product backlog and ensure that the development team is able to deliver value in each sprint
- Review and accept the completed work from the development team and ensure that it meets quality standards and business requirements
- Ensure user testing and validation, collecting feedback and data to measure the impact and value of delivered product features
- Communicate the product vision, roadmap, and progress to business stakeholders, end users, and senior management, and solicit their input and feedback
- Keep up with market trends, customer needs, the competitive landscape, and identify opportunities for improvement and innovation
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- Strong record of accomplishment and at least 3 years of experience as a product owner or equivalent scope in a similar role in a software development environment
- Strong knowledge of the agile methodology and the Scrum framework and experience in working with agile development teams
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, and ability to work with cross-functional teams and diverse audiences
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills and ability to balance competing priorities and trade-offs
- Customer-centric, value-driven mindset and passion for delivering quality and impactful products
- Strong leadership capabilities with a record of accomplishment in digital product solution shaping and delivery
- Excellent coaching skills, a strong interest in developing people
- Customer-focused and service-minded attitude with a substantial value-driven approach
- Performance and result orientation
- Cultural sensitivity and experience in working with geographically dispersed teams
- Excellent communication skills, fluency in written and spoken English
- You are creative, inspiring, demanding and fast. We expect you to push the boundaries, proactively suggest enhancements and translate the requirements to clear user stories to ensure proper throughput in development
- You should have a product and capability development background that employs agile working methods. As a person, you should have excellent project leadership and communication skills, drive to get things done, stay on top of things around you and have a self-driven mindset. You have the ability to effectively lead teams while delivering quality on time. Moreover, you are a skilled team player, being able to take input from different stakeholders, defining and creating the best experiences for our customers
