Load & Haul Division’s Turku plant with in Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions is a global technology and manufacturing center for underground load & haul equipment for mining industry. Today intelligent control system plays an essential and increasingly important role in safe and productive usage of mining equipment.

Would you like to design the world's best underground Trucks? If yes, we could have a suitable job for you. Our Product Development organization is currently looking for an active and innovative Mechanical Engineer for Trucks. The position permanent and located in Turku, Finland.

Your mission

Your work as a mechanical engineer in R&D projects. As a member of Trucks product team, you design steel structures, mechanisms and assemblies. Your job is to develop current design and create new designs according to the project targets such as new performance level, new technology development/implementation, cost efficiency and modularization. You work closely with other teams in R&D and product development organization, manufacturing, sourcing, product line and spare parts as well as our suppliers and other partners. Depending on your background, the different responsibilities of the projects may also be part of your job description.

Your character & background

You have a suitable educational background (Master’s or Bachelor’s degree), 3D CAD knowledge, and some years of experience in steel structure design and product development tasks. You are an innovative person with a genuine desire to develop new solutions and entities, as well as to complete challenging tasks. Your previous knowledge of mobile equipment, diesel engines, electrics, hydraulics, control systems and cabins, as well as experience in strength calculation, laser welding, robot welding, castings and design to cost principles, are considered an advantage. Success in the position requires you to have your own initiative and active work approach, good interaction and teamwork skills, perseverance and fluent oral and written skills in English.
