SENIOR LECTURER, developmental psychology

From October 1st 2021 until further notice

Qualifications we are looking for

The position is situated at the Department of Psychology and it is closely linked to the University’s core field of Learning, teaching and interaction as well as the University strategy that aims at creating competence and wellbeing for the individual. The senior lecturer is expected to strengthen the research profile of the Department of Psychology in the field of developmental psychology, especially psychological development and wellbeing of children and/or adolescents in family and school environments. Experience in preventive interventions in above mentioned environments is considered an asset. In addition, the lecturer is expected to conduct high quality research according to international standards and to contribute to research and teaching collaboration within the faculty of Education and Psychology and between the University’s different faculties.

The position is teaching based and the Senior Lecturer must contribute in teaching of work and organization psychology.  Senior lecturer supervises Bachelor’s and Master’s Theses and doctoral students and is expected to acquire supplementary funding for doctoral students and post-doc researchers.

The duties and qualification requirements for the position are stipulated by the University of Jyväskylä Regulations and language skills guidelines. In this position, the main language of instruction is Finnish. Excellent Finnish and good English skills are thus required. The ability to teach in English is regarded an asset.

The annual salary range will be approximately 43.000 – 64.000 EUR (gross income, including holiday bonus), depending on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.

Six months trial period is applied to the filling of the position.
