Jyväskylä University School of Business and Economics is currently seeking to recruit a

Postdoctoral Researcher, Corporate Communication, for a fixed-term period of 4 years, 1 September 2021 - 31 August 2025.

Tasks and qualifications

We are looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher in corporate communication (specializing in digital corporate communication and stakeholder relations). The postdoctoral researcher will be placed in the corporate communication discipline, and the research profile is expected to match the JSBE focus area Digital Business and Economy.

Tasks of the postdoctoral researcher in corporate communication include research and publishing, as well as planning research projects and applying for competitive external research funding. In addition, teaching, supervision of thesis and administrative tasks are included.

The Applicant is required to have a doctoral degree from the field of corporate communication or related areas (for example organizational communication, strategic communication, digital communication) as well as experience in acquiring external research funding, research and teaching experience in the field of corporate communication. Due to the teaching responsibilities this position cannot be carried out as distance work from another location.

Previous experience and evidence of research related to this position are considered an advantage for the applicant. We value an ability to high-level publishing, experience in international research teams, and interest in teaching and supervision of master theses and the research work.

The duties, qualification requirements and language skills of a Postdoctoral Researcher are stipulated by the University of Jyväskylä Regulations and language skills guidelines. According to Finnish law, a non-native university teaching and research staff member can be granted an exemption from the requirement of Finnish language proficiency. In this position, the Postdoctoral Researcher is expected to have excellent skills in English language.

The annual salary range will be approximately 41,000 – 55,000 EUR (gross income, including holiday bonus), depending on the qualifications and experience of the candidate. A trial period of six months will be used in the beginning of the employment.
