We have more than a decade of experience in applying robotic sorting solutions to the varying needs of the waste industry. ZenRobotics is based in Helsinki and currently employs 70 passionate employees. We started the robotic recycling revolution and are now growing faster than ever.

We are now looking for a seasoned R&D Automation Engineer to join our team. In this role you will get to develop new solutions and systems, productize current systems, improve the system reliability and maintainability, improve the system design and ensure product quality. Your tasks will include development of automation platforms (including SW, HW and electrics), building and testing the prototypes and implementing new features to products. We work closely with other teams, so 3rd level product support for delivery and service teams is also part of your responsibilities. 

What is needed in this role?

• M.Sc or B.Sc with 3+ years of experience of hands on work with industrial systems and automation development

• Good knowledge of a wide range of automation equipment (PLCs, sensors, actuators etc.) and at least basic understanding of electrics, IT and mechanics
• Ability to work on multiple platforms at a basic level (embedded, windows, unix)
• Basic skills of Python or some other higher level programming language
• Holistic view of systems, not just the individual subsystems (higher and lower level control systems, IT, electrics, mechanics, other connected systems)
• Ability to understand the needs of all parties (other teams and the customer), to communicate with them and come up with solutions fitting them
• Persistence to MacGyver through technical challenges by utilizing new technologies or old technologies in new ways
• You communicate fluently in English. Other languages are seen as an asset.
