We are looking for a Senior Analyst/Analyst, Data Science (m/f/d) for a permanent position to join the Strategy & Business Intelligence organization of UPM Communication Papers.

What you will do

  • Solve important business challenges using data analytics and provide transparent insights for data-driven decision making
  • Work on a wide range of analytics related projects through the whole project lifecycle: from working with stakeholders to understand the business problem, formulating it into an analytics problem, solving it, and finally working to see the solution is taken into use
  • Develop and run forecasting models
  • Develop MILP optimization models and use these to support planning decisions
  • Develop your skills as a business-oriented data scientist


Who you are

  • You are highly proficient in Python programming, including experience using common data science related libraries (e.g. pandas)
  • You have good analytics skills including some experience with forecasting and optimization
  • You enjoy learning new things and are not afraid of working on a wide range of topics
  • You have a Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. Mathematics, Finance, Operations Research) and preferably a few years of relevant work experience
  • You can work independently
  • You have a positive attitude and desire to work in a diverse and international environment
  • You have good English language skills and can communicate technical concepts
  • Other beneficial skills: knowledge of Bayesian forecasting methods; knowledge of machine learning methods; experience with Power BI; experience working with Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms; version control with git
