We are now looking for a Software Developerto work in one of our awesome network automation teams. If you have few years of experience and are eager to learn more, this is a perfect opportunity for you to grow your development skills.

Business area and the team

Position is open in eDAM (Elisa Data & Automation Machine) team, which builds state-of-the-art software for network automation. Software that our team develops automates installation, configuration and implementation of corporate customers’ LAN & WAN services and automatically generates customer specific configurations for routers and switches.

Team consists of software developers and network experts working closely together. Our team is responsible for the whole lifecycle of the product and we can optimize our processes, roadmap and solutions independently, targeting optimal short and long term impact.

We follow agile development practices and are constantly improving our ways of working. We also keep the quality up, our code fresh and the technical debt very low.

Technologies

We’re working with modern software tools and DevOps practices. Our system is based on event-driven microservices architecture using Apache Kafka and Neo4j graph database. It’s written mostly with Kotlin, along with some Python and Golang and runs on cloud platform utilizing Kubernetes.

We do require that you have experience in some JVM based language and the more you know of the other technologies the better. But most important is that you have strong enthusiasm to learn new things by working as part of the team.

We do not require network expertise in your skillset, but this is a great learning opportunity in the world of networking and network automation.

Things we are looking for

• Experience on some JVM based language, preferably Kotlin
• Experience in JavaScript or TypeScript and React
• Understanding Docker & Kubernetes
• Interest to improve ways of working in the team
• Ability to understand Finnish is a plus

You will learn

• Understanding event architecture and messaging (i.e. Apache Kafka)
• Software-defined networking (SDN), networking, network automation
