We are now looking for a Project Engineer, Electrical to join our Energy Services Project Management.

Our team of 28 people are working for a more sustainable future through a power plant upgrades to improve energy efficiency to create significant commercial, operational and environmental benefits.

The position is permanent. The preferred location for the position is Vaasa, Finland.

What will you be doing 

In this position, your work will include responsibility for technical solutions, supervision of ordered services of your team, purchasing, quality, contract & requirement compliance, customer satisfaction, schedules and budget of your responsibility area.

You will be performing the project work in compliance with Company Project Management Methodology and Business Directives, in accordance with agile operational values in Energy Services Project Management.

For us to be the best match, we expect you to have understanding in the contracts and adapting its requirements to the project solutions and experience from working with electrical technical ownership.

As an ideal candidate, you have gained experience from implementations of equipment to existing systems and integration to other disciplines included in the project scope and knowledge of engineering.

For you to succeed in the position, we hope you to have negotiation experience and risk management competences and be development minded.  

Your responsibilities are also to

  • Give inputs to change order proposals for budgeting and change order offering description purposes.
  • Be part of the subcontracting process in the own discipline.
  • Act as a substitute to Project Manager when needed.
  • Provide sales support when needed.

Willingness to travel and implementation at project-related events as needed.

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have: 

  • M.Sc. or B.Sc. in electrical engineering
  • Project Management experience preferably in energy business and power plant projects.
  • Adequate technical understanding of engine power plants as well as for technology (automation and electrical systems), solutions and products
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Co-operative team player, willing to learn but also taking up own ideas

Some role specific detailed knowledge is important. We hope you are and can: 

  • Capable of reading process diagrams, layout drawings, knowledge of power plant technology
  • Initiate product engineering / design work
  • Prepare and launch of product specification to acquire required electrical and/or automation systems and equipment
  • Identify unclear areas and observe missing parts/sections in product specification
  • Follow up for getting as built drawings
  • Help preparations and releases of Purchase Requisitions (PR) in ERP system 
  • Prepare installation information package for site team for electrical and automation discipline
  • Participate/lead site installation works planning
