Orion is now looking for an experienced Director to lead Orion Corporation’s Chemical Quality Control (CQC) & Quality Control Technical Operations (QC Tech Ops) unit.

Description of position

In the Director role, you will work as a seamless part of a highly skilled team of Chemical Quality Control supervisors and experts, whose daily work ensures safe, high-quality, and timely analytics, and the success of investment and development projects that are significant for the entire Corporation. You are responsible for the strategic development of the unit according to the business strategies. This requires close cooperation with the key interest groups internally and externally.

You will also be responsible for the training, competence development and resource planning for the organisation, so that the laboratory's activities are consistent with international regulatory requirements.

This is a key leadership position where you can make an impact in the management and development of Orion's chemical quality control operations. You will participate and have a leadership role in various projects and diverse range of tasks that will offer you the opportunity to challenge yourself. You are a member of Quality management team and will participate actively to the development of Quality management unit.

You can be based either in Espoo or Turku. The position will require some travelling between Orion's different sites (Espoo, Salo, Turku, Hanko, and Oulu).

Description of unit

CQC & QC Tech Ops unit is part of the Quality Management within Orion Global Operations.

The unit is responsible for chemical quality control analyses and technical support & maintenance of the laboratory facilities, IT systems and analytical equipment. Chemical analyses are carried out to raw materials, packing materials and finished products. The unit employs 170 people in Espoo, Turku, Salo, Hanko and Oulu.

Requirements

To be a successful Director you are enthusiastic and possesses previous management experience and a strong vision to lead operational laboratory activities. You will systematically develop operations and work processes according to success metrics and apply Lean philosophy, and lead change in the organisation.

You have excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills. You are curious and willing to learn new things and take responsibility as part of the whole. You enjoy empowering people around you and you have excellent team skills. Quality, reliability, and safety are important values for you. Fluency in English is essential in this role.

Previous experience of working in the pharmaceutical industry will be an advantage and your knowledge of the different parts of the supply chain is valued. Ideally, you also understand different analytical technologies. Knowledge of the basics of GMP is also required.
