Wärtsilä Marine Power Solutions RDE, Automation & Controls is developing engine control systems for Wärtsilä engines. We are now looking for Software development engineer with quality assurance mindset for our engine control safety system. We have an experienced team working with the development of the engine safety system and we now need more hands to support with software development and quality assurance tasks.

Location:

Location for this position is Vaasa, Finland.

Your typical day will include:

  • Participation in requirement gathering and development of algorithms for safety system
  • Review of deliveries from supplier
  • Review requirements and documents received and produced within the project
  • Write relevant work process descriptions together with development team
  • Ensure change management process is followed in development work
  • Ensure IEC61508 processes are followed by the development team and escalate to management if needed
  • Configuration management
  • Actively fix Q/A related findings withing team, report relevant Q/A findings outside the team

Required Skills:

  • B.sc or M.sc in software, automation engineering or another relevant subject
  • Attention to detail
  • Systematic worker
  • Knowledge in software development in C
  • Good teamworking and communication skills are essential
  • Fluency in verbal and written English, our everyday work language is mainly English

Earlier work experience in functional safety and experience in applying standards in product development are considered merits
