The Data and Analytics team in IM is recognised as a catalyst for Wärtsilä in the journey to become a data driven enterprise. The team is responsible for the total lifecycle of process automation services, front end reporting applications, advanced analytics applications and data warehousing systems.

We are looking for an experienced data professional with leadership skills to join our team. You will use various methods to transform raw data into useful insights. To succeed in this data lead position, you should have strong analytical skills and the ability to combine data from different sources. Needed skills also include familiarity with several technologies and ability to quickly learn more. If you are detail-oriented, with excellent organizational skills and experience in this field, we’d like to hear from you.

RESPONSIBILY AREAS (to be detailed based on the core competencies of the selected applicant):

• Lead a group of data professionals

• Analyze and organise raw data
• Data Warehouse and ETL development
• Evaluate business needs and objectives
• Interpret trends and patterns
• Conduct complex data analysis and report on results
• Combine raw information from different sources
• Explore ways to enhance data quality and reliability
• Identify opportunities for data acquisition
• Develop analytical tools and programs
• Occasional travelling to be expected

The below will enable you to shine in this role:

• Excellent leadership, communication, visualization and presentation skills
• Previous experience as a data engineer or in a similar role
• Technical expertise with data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques
• Knowledge of database technologies both on premises and cloud
• Hands-on experience with SQL database design
• Hands-on experience with ETL designs with Informatica
• Great numerical and analytical skills
• Degree in Computer Science, IT, or similar field; a Master’s is a plus
• Data engineering certification (e.g IBM Certified Data Engineer) is a plus
• Knowledge of DevOps methods & tools is advantage
• Self-driven, supportive, analytical and goal-focused, with a 'can do' attitude
• Good communication and documentation skills
• Day to day working language is English
