We are looking for a Test Engineer to work with engines in R&D and Engineering, Large Bore engines, Test and Validation team. The location for this position is Vaasa, Finland.
Your role and responsibilities:
As a Test Engineer, you will be working in Test and Validation team at the front end of Wärtsilä´s engine and technology development. We are offering you a possibility to participate in the development of future engine technologies and to contribute to the accelerating realization of decarbonization objectives as a part of a skilled engine test team.
As a Test Engineer, you will focus on the following responsibilities:
- Maintenance, development and upgrading of test engines
- Planning, organizing and executing engine components and system related test activities on laboratory engines, production engines and sometimes field engines and test rigs
- Taking care about test components ordering and test related arrangement on the engine and in the test cells and participating to engine test runs and needed preparations
- Analysing and reporting of test results
- Verification of correct and properly saved measurement data
- Updating and developing test methods and test facilities
- Usage and development of different control and measurement programs
- Supporting different activities in engine and technology testing
You’ll be working as a part of dynamic and competent Large Bore Engines Test and Validation team with diverse expertise
Requirements for the position:
- Relevant technical education (BSc or MSc) from mechanical engineering area
- Interest and basic knowledge of 4-stroke engine technology
- Ability to read and interpret system schemas and mechanical drawings
- Machinery engineering skills and practical abilities, such as repair and/or maintenance activities and experience in a power plant environment, as well as testing functions for large or technically demanding equipment, are considered advantageous as well as deeper knowledge and experience of 4-stroke engine technology
Qualifications/to be able to succeed in the position we expect you to have:
- Skills and previous experiences to work with large bore engines are an advantages
- Good skills in communication and documentation
- Good team working skills, as well as ability to work independently
- Good command of English and Finnish or Swedish
