Wärtsilä Marine Power, R&D and Engineering, Testing & Validation is seeking a Test Engineer/Expert for the Product Automation team. Testing & Validation (T&V) operates laboratory engines and test rig platforms, with the main purpose of testing new concepts and technologies and validating new components and product releases for Wärtsilä engines. T&V is also responsible for customer delivery engines’ factory acceptance- and product conformity testing, including project non-standard- and other product development-related testing. In this position, Your focus will be on validating and developing the hardware components of the embedded automation system (UNIC).

Position information:

The position is permanent, and the location is in Vaasa, Finland.

Main responsibilities:

  • Validation and development of Wärtsilä engines’ product automation system
  • Maintain and update T&V test platforms’ product automation system
  • Support the customer delivery function with engine testing
  • Working in close cooperation with cross-functional teams contributing to the development, validation, and release of new automation systems/components
  • Testing and supporting lifecycle activities of system components and creating related documentation
  • Improving and maintaining overall product quality and testing processes

Requirements:

  • MSc or BSc in Automation/Electrical Engineering or equivalent discipline
  • Good teamwork, communication, and reporting skills
  • Good time management, organizing skills and capability to manage a dynamic workload
  • Fluency in verbal and written English
