Wärtsilä Corporate Relations and Sustainability team is looking for General Manager, Security Europe reporting to Director, Corporate Security.

GM Security Europe will lead and coordinate Wärtsilä Security Management for Europe Area focusing especially on personnel, facilities, travel, and crisis management practices. Position includes also agreed global responsibilities e.g., for related corporate security systems ownership and for facilities security domain.

GM, Security Europe participates into the overall Wärtsilä corporate security strategy forming, budgeting and roadmaps creation and implementation, including the related information and cyber security cooperation together with the Information Management and Cyber Security functions. The location of the position is Helsinki and you will report to Director, Corporate Security.

GM, Security Europe is responsible for own area security framework success ensuring the effective implementations and daily operations delivering the high-quality security services supporting Wärtsilä business continuity.

GM, Security Europe is responsible for:

• Maintaining and developing the fit for business purpose security operations in Europe area
• Leadership and coordination of own area security resources
• Maintaining own responsibility area related security policies and guidelines
• Security risk assessments and security planning for delivery projects and Wärtsilä locations
• Security training and communication
• Providing active business support, maintaining active dialogue and co-operation in all security issues
• Managing own area security service providers
• Security GRC and Lenel OnGuard systems key user
• Personnel vetting and background checks globally
• Deputy to Director, Corporate Security when needed

What we are looking for:

• Relevant academic degree (e.g., MSc. or BSc.)
• 5+ years of experience in security management and development
• Strong knowledge of all key security domains: Personnel, Premises, Travel, Business Continuity / Crises Management
• Proven leadership and management skills
• Experience of Security GRC model and Lenel OnGuard platform is an advantage
• Experience of cyber and IM security is an advantage
• Experience and ability to work in an international environment
• Fluent written and spoken English. Other languages are an advantage.
• Good negotiation and communication skills
• Emotionally intelligent team player with customer focused mindset and can-do attitude
