As a Senior Principal Systems Engineer on the OCI Telecommunications team, you will provide cloud and industry technical expertise to the team, deliver detailed architectures and technical solutions, and collaborate with internal engineering teams and worldwide customers. You will be responsible for working closely with our engineering and architect teams to assess, design, and propose capabilities and solutions that will satisfy the needs of CSPs and enterprises. You will dive deep into industry standards and specifications, and ensure a detailed understanding of the commercial technologies being utilized by telcos. Further, you will perform hands-on solution architecting in support of customer engagements, and work closely with our product and program teams to deliver against our goals. To be successful, you will build and maintain a deep understanding of OCI services and architectures, stay abreast of telecom standards and products, and investigate competitive solutions.

The successful candidate will be an experienced solutions architect or systems engineer with a strong technical background, hands-on cloud experience, an entrepreneurial spirit, and the ability to deliver impactful results in the face of ambiguity. S/he should have a passion for solving difficult problems in a collaborative, agile work environment. S/he will also have a knack for creativity and innovative thinking, can look around corners to identify problems and risks, and a strong sense of empathy for both customers and engineering teams.

Key responsibilities\:

• Maintain deep technical depth on OCI infrastructure, services, and tooling

• Work as a certified Oracle Cloud architect to implement and configure solutions

• Assist in the translation of business requirements into technical specifications

• Create detailed architectures and designs for proposed products or needed capabilities

• Coordinate and collaborate with service and infrastructure teams

• Maintain current knowledge of 3GPP and ETSI standards and technology

• Review design and implementation of solutions to ensure they fully meet customer and system requirements

• Serve as technical point of contact for engineering teams

• Act as technical expert to address engineering teams asks/issues and customer requirements

• Perform technical assessments and analysis to identify gaps and risks

• Provide technical support to customer meetings and sales opportunities

• Provide solution architecting to deliver reference architectures, working prototypes, proofs-of-concept, and production-ready designs

• Assess third party products and solutions

Minimum Qualifications\:

• BS in Computer Science or related discipline

• 7+ years of relevant hands-on technical experience with telecommunications, cloud, and enterprise software

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong business acumen and ability to make high judgment decisions

• Ability to help shape the business strategy for large product areas

• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously

• Proven track record of successfully delivering solutions in an agile environment

• Strong executive presentation skills with experience dealing with C-level technical and business audiences

• Ability to interact with customers and sales teams on an ongoing basis.

Preferred Qualifications\:

• MS degree in a technical discipline

• Experience in the telecommunications industry

• Extensive hands-on experience with public cloud solutions
