The Top Hammer department within Rock Tools is an exciting journey, where we are currently developing the next generation of top hammer rock tools and at the same time setting our future ambitions on how to work with digitalization.

We are now looking for a Senior Engineer to join our Rock Tools Division. This position is permanent and based in Tampere, Finland. You will report to Manager for Product Development TH Tools, located in Sweden.

Your role

The Senior Product Engineer is a key person in the collaboration between Sandviken and Tampere. In this position, you will follow the development of the on-going RTD projects at Tampere and report back to Sandviken. You will drive together with key stakeholders in both Sandviken and Tampere the development within our strategic area of digitalization of rock tools, where you will also be the technical responsible person for Rock pulse from a rock tools perspective, driving its development forward and collaborating with the R&D in Tampere; including both hardware and software development. In addition, within this role you will also support the product development of rock tools in Sandviken by contributing with the equipment aspect and be the link between Sandviken and the test bench facilities in Tampere. You will also work in close cooperation with the Digital Technology team and Manager in Tampere. Some traveling will be a part of this role, mainly to Sweden to the rock tools team.

Your background and what we find important

We are looking for someone with a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other related field of study. You have several years’ experience with working in the field of rock drilling, software development or measurement technology. Experience in project management is considered as an asset. As a person you are driven, research oriented and innovative. You are enthusiastic to evaluating new ideas and sharing the knowledge gained. As we operate in global business, excellent communication skills in both English and Finnish are required.
