I am Magnus Sommer, Head of RAN Engineering team and currently, we are looking for a RAN Engineer.

We are now ramping up the NorthStar program to give Sweden’s and Nordic's leading industrial companies access to a 5G innovation network and the opportunity to explore the latest 5G technologies. Telia is doing this in partnership with Ericsson and our now searching for more talents that wants to work with the newest technologies such as network slicing and positioning, all in close collaboration with our industrial customers.  In the journey of helping industrial companies reinvent better connected business by accelerating the adoption of 5G, Telia will also learn and build an even stronger position as the leading operator in the Nordic Baltic region.

Is this your next opportunity?

You will have the chance to influence the design of Telia’s world-leading radio access networks throughout the Nordic and Baltic regions. The RAN DevOps Engineer we are looking for is someone who has deep technical knowledge, takes individual responsibilities seriously and is a team player. You will work with radio network design and operation of our 5G innovation network in Finland, where slicing will be used to realize true 5G services. This includes parameter design, testing, trialing and follow up, as well as making sure the network delivers according to SLAs.

You will have the opportunity to work closely with Nokia's experts and collaborate with specialists from other domains such as Core and IP transport. There will also be involvement with our technical trial customers.

We are looking for a person with a passion for the latest radio technology and confidence to make impactful decisions. You will work in an international environment, with extensive contacts both within Telia, and external vendors and customers.

Your personal competencies and experiences:

  • Good competence in radio access network – 4G and 5G – including hands-on skills with the hardware.
  • Overall understanding about the mobile network architecture, specifically for RAN but also including Core, HSS, IMS.
  • Experience with Nokia's RAN products. Knowledge about more than one vendor’s products is a merit.
  • Good knowledge of agile ways of working and SAFe is a merit.
  • Great English language skills (both spoken and written).
  • M. Sc. Degree in Engineering or equivalent education.
