We are looking for a Design Engineer (DE) to collaborate with professionals within the product, proposal, and delivery teams. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter that can work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team. The candidate should thrive in a fast paced, constantly changing environment while the industry and company go through substantial growth.

The position of Design Engineer (DE) will be part of the growing global Proposal Development and Project Delivery Teams, reporting to the Manager, Project Delivery. 

Location:

The location for the position is in Finland offices in Vaasa, Helsinki or Turku but other European Office locations can be considered.

Possibility to work partially or fully remote depending on country & location.

Responsibilities: 

  • Your work will be related to project proposal and delivery as well as product development processes within design/layout scope.
  • Typical deliverables will be, Site and system layouts and general arrangement drawings, single line diagram and circuit diagram drawings, cable drawings, assembly and isometric drawings, 2D and 3D modelling, and others as needed.

Minimum Educational Requirements and Experience:

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Engineering, or related field
  • Applicant should have a solid understanding of fundamental electrical engineering and be familiar with relevant codes and standards (CE, EN, IEC, IEEE, NEC, NFPA, UL, IBC, IFC etc.) as applicable to the local regions.
  • Experience in energy storage and renewable energy markets, power systems engineering, or similar projects and products (such as bi-directional inverters, dc/dc converter, various battery chemistries, solar, wind turbines, flywheels, etc.)
  • Capable of reading and drafting electrical designs such as electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and application/logic functional block diagrams in AutoCAD Electrical
  • Familiar with 3D modelling in a similar integrated tool (equipment, structural etc.)
  • Experience with utility-scale renewables system design
  • Experience developing low, medium and high voltage 1-line and 3-line diagrams
  • Familiarity of ANSI/IEEE drawing standard symbols, abbreviations and device numbers
  • Knowledge of NEC conductor ampacity design requirements
  • Knowledge of NEC, NESC, and NFPA 855 equipment spacing and clearance requirements
