UNIVERSITY TRAINEE (Unit for Strategy and Science Policy) 

Unit for Strategy and Science Policy at the University of Oulu is looking for a university trainee for projects that promote interdisciplinarity and internationality. The key tasks of the trainee position include planning and implementing online and face-to-face events. The European University of Post-Industrial Cities (UNIC) and its CityLabs activities that address the challenges of post-industrial cities through cocreation, are an essential part of the internship. European University Alliances are networks of higher education institutions in EU countries, and they work together for the benefit of students, teachers, researchers, and the surrounding societies. As a trainee, you will be part of a team that will organize an international UNIC CityLabs Festival in Oulu on June 13-17, 2022. 

For you to succeed in the trainee position, good organizational and project working skills as well as understanding of digital working and meeting platforms are needed. In addition, good interaction and communication skills are essential. Fluent English (written and oral) is essential for the internship. Other language skills are seen as an advantage. Familiarity with the activities of the European University UNIC, capabilities in producing social media content, and previous experience in communications and event production are also considered as your advantage. 

More than a specific study background, we are looking for enthusiastic and self-directed individuals who can work as a part of an international team. Positive attitude, proactiveness, and a genuine desire to build longstanding communities are key attributes. 

We offer you a stimulating and versatile internship experience as part of an energetic and helpful team in a truly international work environment where you can develop your skills and build your networks nationally and internationally. The exact time and duration of the internship (3 - 4 months between February – June 2022) will be agreed with the selected trainee separately. The trial period is included according to Finnish universities general collective agreement.The internship can be partly part-time. The salary of a university trainee is 1530,27 € / month.
