About the Position
In the People Services you also will find the HR Platforms team, a team consisting of a wide range of tech professionals, building, enhancing and maintaining the enablers required to run the New HR Operating model, People First. In the HR Platforms team, we build meaningful HR experiences on top of our existing platforms, to enable engaging and self-service focused HR Services.

The HR Platforms team is organized around a set of prioritized products and capabilities, and the way of working is agile. This means that the team together with the HR Community defines the requirements, definition of done and acceptance criteria, after which the team together deliver the needed configurations, development, content, automation, UI or capability according to the prioritization of a product owner and the guidelines of the solution architect. The HR Platforms team is strongly collaborating with IM organization, and has a commercial and customer-oriented focus. We are gradually also moving our services into a more operational mode and will see a shift in development and maintenance activities even more strongly.

As Junior Product Owner, you you will have the full responsibility for Virtual Assistant and WeLeap products, to identify the small development items as well as to increasing the number of users and their engagement; from managing the continuous improvement backlog, sprint and priorities, to developing the end to end EX and commercial aspects of the product. You are in continuous dialogue with relevant stakeholders and can translate the business requirements to meaningful experiences via the product you own. You will also take service management ownership for named MyHR Services, meaning you ensure the services are up and running, collect the small development items and ensure needed technical development is raised and prioritised to keep the service up and running as expected.

You should have background in pr29628oduct/content development employing agile ways of working, as well as knowing how to ensure building feedback driven operations and identify backlog items for Software and Chatbot, both technical and content domain. As a person you should have excellent project coordination and communication skills, drive for getting things done, stay on top things around you and have a self-driven mindset. You should have ability to effectively lead teams while delivering quality on time. Moreover, you should be a skilled team player being able to take input from different stakeholders, defining and creating the best experiences for our people.

The job location is Vaasa or Helsinki, Finland.

Responsibilities of the roles

  • Ensure there is a holistic view into the MyHR Virtual assistant and WeLeap backlog management, prioritization and delivery as per experience priority. 
  • Manage the small development item backlog for the named HR Services, supporting the target employee experience perceived via MyHR the people portal.
  • Product Ownership of Virtual Assistant and WeLeap
  • Production of Virtual assistant content with an operational excellence mindset, based on incoming data and ongoing annual clock activities.
  • Plan, facilitate and follow-up virtual sprints to ensure right-sized and timely backlog items 
  • Managing small development items with stakeholders and external partners
  • Raising and refining the application backlog with small development and feedback-driven development items.
  • Development of Virtual Assistant (AWS Lex) and other small software enhancements for the front-end, as per development guidelines.
  • Management of named projects


About You

We are looking for someone with already a track record of successful product ownership, preferably seeing a Chatbot shaped, delivered and operated. We require you to have a solid experience in backlog management (Atlassian used), leading a team of professionals and with a proven track-record of consistent throughput and high-quality deliverables. As a product owner you also thrive as a facilitator. Employee experience and how it can be reached and measured in practice, as also knowledge about core HR processes are needed to be able to be successful in this role.

Team works in a global setting and the selected person will be expected to interact with stakeholders, users and the community members, to ensure delivering a well-perceived service experience through content and activities delivered via the User Interfaces. You embrace the agile ways of working as also actively facilitate to the feature breakdown and refinement.

  • Experience working in a complex, global matrix organization, with strong interpersonal skills
  • Track record of creating meaningful development backlog based on business and customer requirements (lead identification, scoping, agreeing, prioritizing, executing, finalizing, follow-up)
  • Must have previous knowledge of independently managing a Chatbot creation and has experience in teaching the chatbot to support value creation and as well running the operation of chatbot.
  • Willingness to develop the intelligence in a cost-efficient manner to ensure user input is captured by chatbot intent.
  • Need to have experience in using content management systems (Contentful) and raising content derived technical requirements to other product owners
  • Need to have experience of creating and operating content, frontend/interaction and chatbot analytics and having some experience in using such in driving operations.
  • Strong eye for detail to ensure the content experience quality
  • Content related development experience (HTML for email, small content fixes in front-end)
  • Software development overall understanding, and a willingness to create small code fixes where necessary, experience in doing so considered a big advantage
  • Experience in working in the intersection of a global delivery and customer feedback and balancing the different needs to support best possible output for the product.
  • Native English fluency (text creation and copywriting is part of the role)
  • Experience working with the Wärtsilä WeLeap application content publishing considered a plus 
  • Experience working with HR domain process documentation, content and policies considered a plus as the role will have responsibility in servicing this area
  • Experience in planning, scoping and facilitating timeboxed delivery in agile sprints
