We are looking for

Two university teachers (50%) to join our Erasmus+ Teacher Academies project “Towards a European Syllabus in Teacher Education” - TESTEd.

These three-year fixed term positions will start  at the earliest on June 1st, 2022. You will be working in an international project with collaborators from across Europe to work on initial and in-service teacher education. Our team will particularly concentrate on developing a European syllabus for teacher education together with European partner universities.


The content areas of this project include:

  • Work toward a European syllabus in teacher education
  • Initial and in-service teacher education and mobility across Europe
  • Inclusion of societal challenges in initial and in-service teacher education
  • State of the art of digitalization of learning spaces, democratic education, education for sustainable development, and multilingualism
  • Diversity, equity, and inclusion in education


Qualification requirements

You may be the person we are looking for if you have a relevant education-related master’s degree, experience in teaching and are fluent in oral and written English. We consider good networking skills, knowledge of digital pedagogical platforms, and teaching solutions an asset. Experience in participating in research/development projects and working in international teams would also be an advantage. We consider an interest in research in areas such as teacher education, digitalization of learning spaces, democratic education, education for sustainable development, and multilingualism to be a strength.

Salary

Positions are three-year 50 % fixed-term contract, starting at the earliest 01.06.2022 and latest 01.08.2022. The trial period of 6 months is applied to the positions. The salary of the selected university teachers will be in accordance with the Finnish universities salary system for teaching and research personnel: level 4-5. In addition, a salary component based on personal work performance will be paid (maximum of 50% of the job-specific component). Starting gross salary will be approx. 1500– 1750 € per month.

1) A motivation letter (max. 2 pages) summarizing your experience and skills relevant to the role and describing why you are applying for this particular role and why you should be selected. The motivation letter should also include information on personal professional and research interests, experience, and career aspirations.  

2) Curriculum vitae (max. 4 pages) according to the guidelines of the Finnish Board on Research Integrity (Researcher's CV Template 2020 (julkaisufoorumi.fi) containing contact information of at least two referees.

3) List of publications according to the guidelines of the Academy of Finland (https://www.aka.fi/en/research-funding/apply-for-funding/how-to-apply-for-funding/az-index-of-application-guidelines2/list-of-publications/ ).

4) Teaching portfolio (max 3 pages). Providing a record of your core beliefs about teaching, your previous and current teaching experiences, and your reflective process.

5) Certificates/diplomas: Scanned electronic copies of diplomas and transcripts of the records of relevant previous degrees. If the original documents are not in English, Finnish, or Swedish, each document must be accompanied by an official certified translation into English or Finnish.
