Wärtsilä Fuel Gas Supply Systems (FGSS) is a product line in Wärtsilä Marine that develops, manages, markets, sells, and delivers complete systems for the storage and handling of alternative fuels on board marine vessels. The fuels covered by FGSS include LNG, methanol, ammonia, and hydrogen. Our mission is to enable our customers to use 100% renewable fuels.

We are now looking for a Sales Engineer to support the Wärtsilä Fuel Gas Supply Systems organisation. The preferred location for this position is in Vaasa, Finland. 
  
Your role and responsibilities:
 
As a Sales Engineer you will be providing technical and commercial support to Wärtsilä’s global sales network. It is also your responsibility to prepare sales cost calculations, technical documentation and offers for our systems. In doing so you will play an important role in enabling us to successfully reach the order intake targets of FGSS. The tasks will also include participation in customer meetings as well as sales negotiations. The job can be considered successfully done when we can ensure the offered solution meets the customer’s needs in the best possible way. It is, however, also a crucial part of the job to align the offered solution with internal stakeholders prior to contract signing. This to ensure a successful handover and delivery. 

Requirements for the position: 

  • Open-minded and agile personality
  • A customer-serving mindset
  • Flexibility and good team working skills
  • Experience with similar tasks is an advantage           

To be able to succeed in the position we expect you to have:

  • M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Engineering
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Solid communication skills
  • Strong personal drive, used to take own initiatives and being pro-active 
  • Willingness to travel occasionally
  • Experience with work in the marine business
  • Experience with LNG, Methanol or other alternative fuels seen as an advantage
