Business Unit Field Services & Workshops (FS&WS) in Marine Power is a global organisation with harmonised ways of working and tools to deliver the best possible services for our customers. We are looking for an Operational Excellence Manager to join our team. The preferred location for this position can be in Vaasa, Finland or Trieste, Italy or in Drunen, Nederland.

The preferred candidate will be able to build a highly inclusive culture ensuring team members thrive. Excellent communication skills are a must to be able to provide project updates on a consistent basis to all interested stakeholders and executive management. The candidate should thrive in a fast paced, constantly changing environment while the industry and company go through substantial growth. Responsible for measuring project performance and identifying areas for improvement throughout the project.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Be Operational Excellence ambassador for our GEO organisation
  • Coach and train OE thinking and methodologies in our GEO organisation and in cooperation with training services
  • Maintain, support, and audit the development of our Operational Excellence goals and objectives
  • Assist teams and accountable parties on with OE projects, waves and Continuous Improvement projects and initiatives
  • Collect and contribute the best practice examples and ensure knowledge sharing inside Wärtsilä

Following helps you to succeed in the role:

  • Hands on experience with Operational Excellence methodologies (LEAN, 5S, Kaizen) and keen interest in continuous improvement
  • Interpersonal skills to motivate and influence people
  • Structured approach and way of working
  • Firmness and determination to contribute OE objectives
  • Role-modelling attitude to foster OE culture in organisation
