If DNS is down, everything is down.

We are now looking for a full time Solution Specialist or a Software Developer with a penchant for DNS operations and development.

Elisa’s critical DNS infrastructure is operated and developed within Elisa’s Software Services unit. As a modern software engineering unit, we apply the agile software development mentality also to DNS systems administration. We use modern version control practices and CI/CD pipelines. We don’t tinker with configuration, we deploy configuration changes via automation.

We expect that you have:

• DevOps skills – Experience with GitHub Actions, Go/Python, Kubernetes
• Solid experience of Linux automation and networking
• Experience with monitoring and metrics technologies including Prometheus, Grafana or Elasticsearch

We’ll appreciate if you have:

• Experience with cloud infrastructure technologies including OpenStack, Terraform, Ansible
• Experience of DNS in its many forms
• Familiarity with PowerDNS products
• Good understanding of IP networks and routing
• Experience with working in an agile team

In addition to DNS development, rest of your role will be customized based on your experience and interests, and can be some combination of:

• Security in Software Engineering (way of working, processes, and tooling)
• Software development (Go, Python)
• Site Reliability Engineering (Public clouds: AWS, Google Cloud)
• Kubernetes development and operations “at scale”
• Database Administration (MariaDB, PostgreSQL, cloud native technologies)

You don’t have to know everything; the position allows you to learn more as you go. We expect you to have great communication skills in spoken and written Finnish and English.
