Position description
We are looking for an Expert, Future Fuels to the Auxiliary Systems Team in Energy Business Technology and Product Management. You will be part of a team of experts for different fuel and power plant utilities that are reporting to Senior Manager, Auxiliary Systems.
You will act as a Future Fuel System Expert that will have ownership of hydrogen system technology & design. You will in addition to system design be responsible for developing process and functional descriptions enabling good process control. You will also act as a Gas System Expert that support the system development of different mixtures of hydrogen and natural gas and can support fuel flexibility and conversion packages. In addition to the own expertise area you will be part of the expert team supporting other future fuels as methanol and ammonia and being part of the team implementing gas safety and hazardous area classification into the plant design.
Location for this position can be Vaasa, Helsinki or Turku, Finland.
Main Responsibilities
- Set the fuel system requirements for hydrogen and configuration rules to be used in design, equipment specifications and sales tools
- Assist and cooperate with the other fuel experts in the development of existing and new fuel system for both gas and liquid fuels
- Participate in Safety studies (HAZID, HAZOP and LOPA) as a fuel system expert
- Close cooperation with our safety team regarding gas safety, hazardous area classification and functional safety.
- Close cooperation with all stakeholders to ensure optimal solutions from system and power plant solution point of view
- Maintenance and improvement of system flow diagrams, process and functional descriptions, design handbooks and internal fuel gas system information (Compass)
- Support Sales, Proposal Teams and Project Teams
- Participate in development projects
- Sub-supplier and consultants contacts for equipment specifications and development management/support
You will success in the role with:
- M.Sc. Degree, preferably process engineering
- 5+ years of experience in the field of process engineering and system design
- Experience in green gaseous fuels, such as hydrogen is seen as an advantage
- Experience in process simulation (Aspen HYSYS or similar)
- Experience in Matlab/Simulink process modelling seen as an advantage
- Solution and business-oriented mindset to develop competitive power plant solutions
- Good analytical skills, as well as creative thinking and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and team working skills
- Ability to communicate across teams, functions and levels within the company
- Ability to explain complex issues to all stakeholders
- Forward thinker who isn't afraid to challenge already “proven solutions”
- Good written and oral skills in English
