Energy Services Project Management is responsible of providing our energy customers life cycle support services and updates related to fuel conversions, modernizations, upgrades, relocation and rehabilitation of their plants and equipment. The Project Management teams operate in an environment which requires collaboration with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, in order to serve a global variety of customers. Lean organization and direct responsibility towards the end customer requires the individuals to have a high level of commitment to the team and to take ownership of their own work.

In Energy Services Project Management, we are looking for a Chief Project Engineer, for Electrical and Automation discipline.

The preferred location for the position is Vaasa, Finland.

In your assigned projects, You will be responsible for technical solutions, supervision of ordered services, purchasing, quality, contract/requirement compliance, customer satisfaction, schedules and budget of your responsibility area.

You will be performing the project work in compliance with Company Project Management Methodology and Business Directives, in accordance with agile operational values in Energy Services Project Management. And with great colleagues!

Your Responsibilities will include:

  • Participate in customer/stakeholder negotiations when needed and maintain good customer/stakeholder relationships
  • Understanding the contract and adapting its requirements to the project solution.
  • Plan and manage works (e.g. purchase, approve and release of designs) under own responsibility area, according to contract requirements with the total costs, schedule and customer needs in focus, from the project initiation to the closing.
  • Manage project activities according to contract/requirements, such as engineering, procurement, manpower, logistics, and site activities, together with external vendors and internal team members
  • To follow-up and report quality, use of resources, costs, schedule and scope of the responsibility area
  • Identify, mitigate, monitor and report risks in own responsibility area
  • Provide lessons learned initiatives for developing issues in own responsibility area
  • Act as a substitute to Project Manager when needed
  • Provide sales support when needed
  • Participate in developing and maintaining of tools and methods in own responsibility area

We would like you to have:

  • M.Sc. or B.Sc. in electrical and/or automation engineering
  • Project Management experience, preferably in energy business and power plant projects.
  • Technical understanding of engine power plants
  • Understanding of technology, solutions and products (e.g. PLC, HMI / SCADA)
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Skills, knowledge and will of managing contracts
  • Personal drive to develop skills, tools and ways of working – both for yourself and others
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build relationships
  • Willingness to take responsibility over own work and role
  • Willingness for occasional travelling
