TURKU SCHOOL OF ECONOMICS, DEPARTMENT OF MARKETING AND INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR THE PERMANENT POSITION OF

University Teacher in International Business, starting August 1st, 2023.

The position is located at the Department of Marketing and International Business in the field of International Business. Department of Marketing and International Business has multidisciplinary and international working environment with ambitious research, high-quality teaching and good working atmosphere combined.

Job description

University Teacher position in International Business consists of independent teaching duties including undergraduate level teaching, supervision of theses and planning and implementing educational modules. Additionally, the position includes independent academic research work and duties with university administration. The person selected will be responsible for large BSc level compulsory courses and therefore good teaching ability and overall command of teaching in the field of International Business are prerequisites for this position. Prior experience of online teaching is considered as an asset.

Requirements

In practise, a person selected for the position of University Teacher is required to have a doctoral degree in International Business (as a minimum requirement accepted dissertation and postgraduate studies completed). Other qualification requirements of personnel are defined in the University of Turku Rules of Procedure.

Demonstrated competence in the area of responsibility, teaching skills, experience of the use of versatile teaching methods and thesis supervision as well as pedagogical training are considered as merits. Good knowledge of and ability to teach in English is a prerequisite for this position. The ability to teach in Finnish is considered as a benefit.

Additionally, prior research in the focus areas of the unit will be considered an advantage for the applicant as well as experience of working in multidisciplinary research projects. For further information, see.

Salary

The salary for the post is determined in accordance with the university salary system for teaching and research personnel. The salary for a University Teacher in the beginning of employment is about 3300 – 3500 EUR per month.

The position is subject to a six (6) months trial period.
