Centre for Collaborative Research/Business Renewal research group (Business Renewal research group), at Turku School of Economics is looking for a Research Manager for a fixed-term position.

Work starts on 1st January 2023 and lasts until 31th December 2023.

Turku School of Economics (TSE) is known for effective research, inspiring learning experiences, future-oriented thinking, and versatile collaboration with stakeholders. As a recognition of excellence in business education and research, TSE has been rewarded international AACSB-accreditation.

Centre for Collaborative Research CCR is active research unit and interface between academics and business. We study change and business transformations at different levels: individuals, businesses, industries and in society as a whole. We develop and create prerequisites for industry-academia collaboration and innovation activities for our faculty at Turku School of Economics. Our ambition is to conduct and promote impactful research both at Turku School of Economics, and more widely at the University of Turku. We are unit of 13 researchers currently.

Business Renewal research group studies and co-designs their processes, models and practices related to innovations and business ecosystems. We work in particular with manufacturing industry, information technology, marine industry and health care organisations.

The Research Manager works as an integral part of the research group in planning research programs and projects, applying for funding and realizing projects.

The tasks include:

  • working as part of project team during the project
  • research collaboration with companies, other departments at TSE, and other research partners
  • publishing in academic and popular forums
  • planning projects and applying for external funding
  • contributing to the development of the group
  • coordination task of a research network to be agreed separately

We expect the Research Manager to be/have:

  • able to collaborate with internal and external research partners
  • willing to apply participatory research methods and to take research-based knowledge into practice
  • knowledgeable of theories that fit the Business Renewal group research agenda, read more about Business Renewal research group
  • higher university degree in a suitable field
  • proficiency in English and good skills in interaction and public speaking

In addition, we appreciate experience in:

  • externally funded research projects
  • applying for external funding
  • communicating research findings
  • corporate collaboration
  • experience in the marine sector or technology industry or related sectors
  • doctoral degree or nearly finished doctoral studies in a suitable field
  • knowledge of Finnish language

The salary for the post is determined in accordance with the university salary system (YPJ). The salary for the Research Manager is about 3700-3900 euros per month in the beginning of employment.

A trial period of six (6) months will apply.
