Wärtsilä Marine Power Solutions RDE (R&D and Engineering), Automation & Controls is looking for an architect for our embedded automation system

We are looking for experienced embedded and edge systems architect for Wärtsilä engine automation system architecture, technology development and maintenance.

Location: Location for this position is Helsinki, Vaasa or Turku, Finland. We also offer possibilities for hybrid work.

Main responsibilities 

  • Work on technology roadmaps for automation & controls 
  • Work with Product owners to clarify product development roadmaps 
  • Acquire advanced knowledge and follow global development trends in own areas of expertise 
  • Participate in planning of R&D development deliveries and scope 
  • Support budgeting by estimating costs, resources, and schedules for the development programs 
  • Provide advanced technical expertise within Research and development organizations 
  • Coach and support R&D experts in problem solving 

 
Required Skills 

  • University degree in Automation, Process engineering, Computer Science or similar 
  • 5+ years of experience in leading architecture development of connected embedded systems. 
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in developing software for real-time embedded systems. 
  • Experience on edge and cloud-based systems can be considered as a benefit. 
  • 5+ years of experience in leading technical experts. 
  • 10+ years of experience in integrating system Hardware/Firmware/Software/Tools. 
  • Excellent teamworking, coaching and communication skills. 
  • Fluency in verbal and written English, our everyday work language is English
