Wärtsilä Marine Power, RDE, Business & Project Control is now looking for a Financial Controller to join our Team in Vaasa. In this role you will be responsible of supporting RDE functions with financial planning, controlling, and executing & developing business controlling activities for R&D and Engineering organisation.

Main responsibilities

• Support RDE line or platform areas with the financial planning, follow-up and participate in relevant meetings.
• Perform and develop the RDE business controlling activities.
• Participate to the RDE monthly and quarterly closing activities.
• Controlling and coordination tasks related to subsidy projects: 
  • Coordination of external funding related activities with internal stakeholders and funding agencies
  • Monthly subsidy accruals and clearing of received grants and receivables 
  • Arrange and facilitate audits
  • Cost reporting to the funding agencies. 
• Maintain RDE cost objects and release tables
• Participate in FICO process, system and performance metrics development workstreams

Your background and skills

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics or similar experience
• Good knowledge in Accounting.
• Persistence to understand subsidy reporting guidelines and carry out reporting accordingly.
• Strong teamwork skills including ability to adapt to various roles within a team 
• Good communication and presentation skills including fluency in English, Finnish or Swedish is seen as advantage
• Ability to work according to deadlines and varying workload.
• Self driven with ability to work independently 
• Good Excel skills
• Experience in using SAP and related SAP FICO modules
• Experience in PowerBI and / or RPA (Robotic Process Automation) is seen as a benefit
