Senior Lecturer in management and leadership / School of Business and Economics
Jyväskylä University School of Business and Economics (JSBE) is currently seeking to recruit staff to the position of
SENIOR LECTURER in Management and Leadership.
The position is a fixed-term contract starting from 1 March 2023, or as soon as possible thereafter, and ending 31 July 2026.
JSBE has three focus areas in its research: Sustainable Business and Economy, Digital Business and Economy, as well as Policy-Relevant Economics and Competiveness of Economy. The senior lecturer in management and leadership will focus on teaching and research in the key areas of leadership, sustainable business, and economics. Teaching tasks include high-quality research-based teaching and guidance related to the field of the discipline at the levels of basic, subject, and advanced studies, including supervising bachelor's, master’s, and doctoral theses. The person selected for the position is expected to actively participate in the development of teaching as well as acquire external research funding.
Qualifications we are looking for
The duties, qualification requirements and language skills of a Senior Lecturer are stipulated by the University of Jyväskylä Regulations and language skills guidelines. The person selected for this position is expected to be proficient in Finnish. According to the Finnish law, a non-native lecturer/research staff member can be granted an exemption from the requirement of Finnish language proficiency. Excellent skills in English and the ability to teach in English are considered beneficial. The position is full time located in Jyväskylä, where contact teaching takes place.
The applicant is required to have a relevant doctoral degree in a related field. The applicant is expected to provide evidence of independent scientific research in the field and in the ability to give high quality research-based teaching as well as supervision. Experience in teaching and research tasks regarding the JSBE focus areas are considered beneficial.

The annual salary range will be approximately 40.000 – 63.000 EUR (gross income, including holiday bonus), depending on the qualifications and experience of the candidate. A trial period of six months will be used in the beginning of the employment.
