NAPA Design Solutions’ Platform team is looking for a summer colleague for the role of a Software/UI Developer Trainee for our office in Helsinki (just next to the sea). You can also work remotely in accordance with your team.

The trainee role and the team

In this job, you will work on UI (user interface) development with WPF, C#, and XAML. The tasks can be tailored based on your interests and experience.

You will be working with .NET Desktop applications, native libraries, third-party components – including 3D graphics library, database engines, licensing solution, etc.

You will work in a 5-member Platform team where your closest colleagues are experienced software developers who will help and guide you in your new role. You will also interact with local and global colleagues from various teams in software development, UX design, DevOps, and sales.

When you will begin to work, you will be assigned an onboarding buddy from the team, who will take care of a good start at your job and who will introduce the NAPA Way of working.

You could start working in May or according to the agreement. The job will be full-time during the summer months of 2023.

Our office is located in Helsinki (Ruoholahti) and you can work at the office or in hybrid mode.

What are we looking for?

The most important thing is that you want to do and learn UI development even if you don’t have much experience in it yet. You also have good teamwork skills and can communicate fluently in English.

To succeed in this job, we hope that you:

  • have enthusiasm and passion for UI development
  • experience or interest in using WPF, C#, and XAML
  • are studying computer science or other relevant subject

It is an advantage if you have:

  • experience/knowledge in UI development
  • understanding of UI design
  • experience/knowledge in automated testing methods
  • interest towards NAPA’s domain (maritime business)
