Sandvik Business Area Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions (SMR) is a leading global high-tech supplier of equipment, tools and service solutions for the mining and construction industries. Our offering covers rock drilling, rock cutting, rock crushing, loading and hauling and materials handling.

SMR IT is SMR Business Area’s internal IT organization responsible for providing sustainable and secure IT solutions and services.

Operational Excellence is a team with global responsibility to support teams across SMR with effective and fit for purpose IT Operating Model and ways of working, including how we engage with business stakeholder groups.

We are now searching for a Portfolio Manager to ramp up and take a leading role in developing our capabilities in strategic portfolio management and look after our Enterprise Roadmap across SMR Business Area. Scope of the portfolio will include ongoing and forward-looking plans for strategic business change and business strategy -driven execution initiatives across SMR extending out over several years. Previous work experience with change management and driving organizational change will be a strong asset in this role.

The role is full-time, permanent and located in Tampere, Finland. Hybrid work is supported, but fully remote work arrangements are not supported.

Your role

In this role you will take overall responsibility for our new strategic portfolio management capabilities in support of better business governance, facilitating the governance activities and developing working practices for ongoing support across involved business and IT functions. In this role you are reporting to Head of Operational Excellence, SMR IT.

Your background

You have a suitable degree (M.Sc. preferred) in an applicable field. You might have background in Project Management, Portfolio Management, Management Consulting and you have a minimum of five years of experience in a similar role. You are well organized and experienced in creating and assessing plans and roadmaps, and you enjoy collaborating efficiently with a diverse set of global stakeholders. You have a business minded, results oriented attitude and you are proactive, self-motivated and one with a lot of initiative, courage and integrity. You are comfortable interacting with both business executives as well as technical experts in helping them understand the key priorities and principles of portfolio management. Your stakeholders are spread out globally, so your main working language is English.

As going agile is an eventual direction for the overall portfolio, familiarity with frameworks such as SAFe can be considered a benefit.
