Main Group Chemistry Research Group is specialized in the development of functional main group materials consisting of redox-active main group species and their coordination compounds. Of particular interest are f-block metal complexes of main group ligands that can function as single-molecule magnets and opto-magnetic complexes. These compounds can open new possibilities for practical applications in data storage, quantum computing and optical detection of magnetic compounds. This project will involve the synthesis and characterization of the targeted f-block metal complexes and investigation of their potential as single-molecule magnets and opto-magnetic complexes.

Besides research related duties, the postdoctoral researcher is expected to actively participate in all activities of the research group, teaching, and supervision of undergraduate and graduate students.

Qualifications we are looking for

Candidates are expected to hold a PhD degree or equivalent in chemistry or a related field. Previous experience in inorganic-organometallic air-free synthetic, purification and characterization techniques is required. Prior knowledge of single-molecule magnets and opto-magnetic materials will be considered as asset.

Precise work methods, team player attitude and the ability to act independently are prerequisites for a Postdoctoral Researcher.
