Senior Lecturer in Marketing / School of Business and Economics



Jyväskylä University School of Business and Economics (JSBE) is currently seeking to recruit staff to the position of
SENIOR LECTURER in Marketing.
The position is in effect until further notice starting 1 August 2023, or as soon as possible thereafter.
The Senior Lecturer will be part of the Marketing discipline, contributing to developing a research agenda on marketing, specializing in digital marketing, strategic marketing management, consumer behavior, b-to-b marketing and networks, or in responsible marketing. The research profile for this post is expected to match the JSBE focus area of Digital Business and Economy.
The main duties of Senior Lecturer include teaching and research in the field of marketing. Teaching tasks include high-quality research-based teaching and guidance related to the field of the discipline at the levels of basic, subject, and advanced studies, including supervising bachelor's, master’s, and doctoral theses.
The person selected for the position is expected to actively participate in the development of teaching as well as acquire external research funding.
Qualifications we are looking for
The applicant is required to have a relevant doctoral degree in marketing or related areas. The applicant is expected to provide evidence of high-quality academic research work published in leading journals and extensive experience in international teaching and supervision.
Experience in teaching and supervising tasks related to the focus area mentioned above is considered an advantage for the applicant. Also, relevant competences and evidence of high-quality research work advancing the subject area of marketing are considered an advantage. We value an ability to high-level publishing, experience from international research teams.
The duties, qualification requirements and language skills of a Senior Lecturer are stipulated by the University of Jyväskylä Regulations and language skills guidelines.
The person selected for this position is expected to teach in Finnish and/or in English. According to the Finnish law, a non-native lecturer/research staff member can be granted an exemption from the requirement of Finnish language proficiency. In this position, the Senior Lecturer is expected to have excellent skills in English language. The position is full time located in Jyväskylä, where contact teaching takes place.

The annual salary range will be approximately 40.000 – 63.000 EUR (gross income, including holiday bonus), depending on the qualifications and experience of the candidate. A trial period of six months will be used in the beginning of the employment.
