We are looking for a (Senior) Expert, Sustainable Fuels to the Technology organization within Wärtsilä’s Energy Business. In this strategically important role your main responsibility will be to lead the development of our sustainable fuel systems, with focus on hydrogen.
Location: The preferred location for this position is in our Finland offices in Vaasa, Helsinki or Turku, but also other European Wärtsilä offices are negotiable. Hybrid office and remote working is possible in this position.
Responsibilities
- Define the system and equipment requirements for engine power plants operating on green hydrogen and other sustainable fuels
- Collaborate with the cross-disciplinary expert network to establish harmonized process documentation
- Participate in safety studies (HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA) as a fuel system expert in close cooperation with our dedicated safety team
- Screen and validate equipment suppliers and 3rd party design partners in the field of sustainable fuels
- Provide technical sales support, delivery project support and training within own field of expertise
Requirements for the position
- Master’s degree in engineering, preferably within process engineering
- 3+ years’ experience within process or system engineering
- Experience in hydrogen, natural gas or ammonia system design
- Good written and oral skills in English
- Ability to communicate complex topics to stakeholders of various background
- Simulation tool experience (Aspen, MATLAB/Simulink)
- Solution-oriented mindset
- Problem-solving skills
