The position in brief:
We are looking for a Senior Manager to join the corporate Strategy and M&A team in Helsinki, Finland. You will be responsible for leading strategic projects to accelerate the implementation of our strategy – The Wärtsilä Way. You will work closely with our businesses to ensure alignment of strategy and M&A. The position will report to VP, Strategy and M&A at Wärtsilä Corporation.  

Main responsibilities: 

  • Contribute to company’s strategic planning process
  • Steer planning and implementation of strategic projects 
  • Foster a close working relationship with business stakeholders to ensure alignment of strategy and knowledge sharing
  • Coordinate M&A transaction execution, including valuation, due diligence, negotiations, and integration planning
  • Contribute to the development of Wärtsilä’s M&A process and methodology

The ideal candidate is a critical thinker and motivated team player with +6 years of experience from corporate development, management consulting and/or investment banking. 
We look for experience of leading several projects in parallel from planning to implementation. To succeed in this role, you are a strong communicator with ability to build and maintain relationships within a global corporation. Furthermore, you are performance driven with excellent analytical skills and solid business acumen. Master’s degree in finance, accounting and/or industrial engineering & management is a plus. Fluency in English is a requirement.
