In the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Energy Conversion and Systems Research Group is working on wide variety of topics in energy. We are looking eager students for several summer job positions.

The topics and supervisors are at least:

1. Measurements and analysis on bi-facial solar PV panel – battery energy storage system, Mika Järvinen

2. Commissioning process of HVAC systems, Risto Kosonen

3. Effect of investment cost on technology preference in hydrogen production, Eero Hirvijoki

4. Production processes of food industry, especially their energy use on an annual and daily level, and their waste heat potential. The task utilizes both existing literature and calculation tools, Timo Laukkanen

5. Thermal energy storage materials: tests, preparation or modelling, Ari Seppälä

6. Energy storage systems (experimental), Annukka Santasalo-Aarnio

7. Wind simulation with computational fluid dynamics, Ville Vuorinen

8. Learning OpenFOAM for 3D turbulent flow simulations, Ossi Kaario
