Description of position:

We are looking for a results driven marketing and sales professional to take the lead of Fermion’s new generic API selection and business development process and marketing and sales activities of generic APIs for a specific territory. The territory of your responsibility covers highly interesting competitive markets including Fermion’s biggest generic API market India, its neighbour countries as well as Latin America where several companies use Fermion’s high quality APIs. The total number of customers buying APIs from Fermion regularly in your territory exceeds 40. The number of new customer development projects is over 30. You are expected to grow the clientele further by active relationship building with customers.

The new generic API selection and business development process consists of product selection, access strategy development and project management phases. Fermion selects 2-3 new generic API candidates and finalizes approximately one project annually. As per as strategy, the focus of Fermion’s product development is in CDMO business but generic APIs with solid business case will also be developed. Your great ideas regarding new possible products are enthusiasticly awaited. You will act as a project manager at least for some new generic API projects.

It is expected that you attend actively to international trade shows, show activity in business related social media and regularly meet the customers face-to-face. You work closely with the whole Fermion’s marketing and sales team. With Generic API sales team you will share common tools and working practices. Organisation wise, you will report to VP, Marketing and Sales of Fermion.

Description of unit:

Fermion’s activites focus on four businesses. The core of Fermion’s strategy is to provide active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) for Orion’s proprietary products. Secondly, Fermion develops, manufactures and markets generic APIs to companies in global pharmaceutical market. Thirdly, Fermion offers its contract development and manufacturing (CDMO) services for innovators focusing on new chemical entities. In this segment the main customers are US and European based biotechs. Last but not least, Fermion’s marketing team is responsible for Orion’s contract manufacturing business of drug products. Fermion is fully owned subsidiary of Orion Corporation and headquartered in Espoo, Finland.

Fermion’s API product portfolio consists of over 30 generic APIs and over 10 new chemical entities. Fermion’s two state-of-the-art commercial manufacturing sites as well as R&D facilities including a modern kilo scale GMP operation are all located in Finland. Fermion’s net sales of 2022 were 122 m€.

Requirements:

We require:

• M.Sc or equivalent degree in the area Technology or Business or relevant science
• At least 5 years experience in B2B activities of international pharma market, preferably in sales and marketing or alternatively in sourcing or business development activities.
• You are proactive and can work independently
• You are highly skilled in networking and relationship building
• You have excellent skills at influencing and convincing people
• You have excellent negotiation and co-operation skills with a customer but also internally
• You are fluent in English, other language skills being a benefit
• You are experienced user of SAP
• Two one week business trips to India and one trip to Latin America per annum in addition to CPHI Europe are minimum travelling requirements.
