The IDBM (International Design Business Management) curriculum integrates business, design and technology to enable students to lead multidisciplinary radical creativity. Graduates of the program earn a master’s degree in business, design or technology, and gain extensive transdisciplinary teamwork experience that enables them to work in a wide variety of fields. IDBM is uniquely positioned as the only programme offered in all six schools of Aalto.

We are now looking for a

Program Assistant (Community Manager) for IDBM

Are you passionate about helping shape the future directions of the IDBM Programme? Interested in supporting and developing new community oriented activities and initiatives for students, faculty, and other stakeholders (alumni, partners, organizations)? Developing your own marketing, project management, and communicative skills?

We are now looking for a Program Assistant (Community Manager) to support the ongoing activities within the IDBM Programme at Aalto University. In this position, you will have a chance to make an impact by:

  • Coordinating, developing and executing various community building events like Alumni and student networking events, Orientation week activities, and the IDBM Impact Gala

  • Being involved and participating in projects such as C-ACCELERATE (https://eit-hei.eu/projects/c-accelerate/)

  • Administrative assistance with some IDBM course(s)

  • Managing and leading the programme’s social media and digital presence activities

  • Bringing ideas to further develop the IDBM programme’s overall strategy and vision

  • Serving as the bridge between the faculty and key stakeholders (students, alumni, partners)

Your role and goals

  • Gathering and bringing forward formal and informal feedback from students

  • Managing the programme’s social media and digital presence

  • Representing the IDBM Programme at various public, marketing, and networking events

  • Attending faculty meetings and activities

  • Assisting in some capacity with some IDBM courses

Your network and team

You will be working with all of the faculty involved in the IDBM Programme, and will be guided by and working closely in this role with Apurva Ganoo.  Dr. Ville Eloranta, IDBM Programme Director, will be your supervisor.

Your experience and ambitions

  • Enrollment in an MSc program in a relevant field at Aalto University. Those enrolled in a BSc may also be considered if they have a strong background.

  • Fluency in English is required

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Proficiency in using software such as the Microsoft Office package

  • Experience in working with social media platforms is considered as an advantage

  • Experience with digital content creation is considered as an advantage

The employment is expected to begin in May 2023 and the contract is until the end of May 2024. The employment is part-time with 50% working time (18,13h/week). The salary is 1075 - 1125€/month (with 50 % work time), depending on your experience and level of studies. Your working hours will be flexible and thus well combinable with your studies. In addition, you will have access to Aalto employee perks and benefits like, for example, occupational health care and staff training. We work in a hybrid way, and the primary workplace is Otaniemi, Espoo.
