Logistics Expert, Material Management 

Wärtsilä Marine Power Solutions, Delivery Centre STH is looking for a Logistics Expert to be part of the Material Management team. DC STH Material Management plans, organizes and controls the material flow from suppliers to production, including, transportation, and in-house logistics. As a Logistics Expert, you will be responsible for supporting production to reach their goals.

What will you be doing
As Logistics Expert, your work will focus on these responsibilities:

  • Act as Logistics Expert in our production environment
  • Ensure material flow from warehouse to production
  • Participate in process and system development for Smart Technology Hub in Vaskiluoto
  • Process and system development related to optimized end-to-end material flow
  • Be responsible for continuous knowledge sharing related to best practices
  • Act as a key user and provide support for the end-users in SAP, EWM, and other systems/tools
  • Participate in Operational Excellence activities

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

  • MSC/BSC or equivalent (in engineering, economics, IT, business administration, or similar)
  • Good communication, team working, and social skills
  • Systematic and active approach to working
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of LEAN principles is seen as an advantage (e.g., value stream mapping, kaizen, root cause analysis, and problem solving)
  • Strong IT skills (e.g., SAP knowledge)
  • Experience in logistics or manufacturing 
  • Experience in process development and project management is seen as an advantage
  • Fluent in spoken and written Finnish or Swedish and English
