We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven product and domain specialist to join our team. You will work in a highly collaborative team and assist with other products in the Port Optimisation portfolio where relevant knowledge and experience can help to unlock optimisation and decarbonisation value for our customers while growing the business. To be successful as a product specialist, you must have a passion for the product you work with and the context and end users the product is being used in. You will have a hunger to keep expanding product and domain knowledge to anticipate how the product can be improved and enhanced and make it happen with the team! 

Outstanding product specialists should have a keen eye for spotting market trends and customer needs, a willingness to inspire internal and external stakeholders, and the ability to work both independently and within a team.

We are considering applicants who are authorised to work without sponsorship in either Finland (Helsinki), Canada (Vancouver) or Singapore

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Product Development: Collaborate with the product management team to define product requirements, features, and functionalities based on market analysis and customer feedback. Use your deep knowledge of VTS systems to provide input on product design, architecture, and development strategies.
  • Product Improvement: Continuously evaluate the performance of VTS products and identify opportunities for improvement. Gather user feedback, conduct market research, and analyze industry trends to suggest enhancements or new features that can enhance the product's competitiveness and value proposition. Making helpful product recommendations and suggestions to increase revenue. 
  • Technical Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert on VTS systems, including radar technologies, vessel tracking systems, AIS (Automatic Identification System), and other relevant maritime technologies. Ability to memorize details like product specifications. 
  • Commercial Acumen: Be thoroughly familiar with typical business and contract models employed in the industry and hold a wide network of professional industry contacts. Provide support for tendering, analysis, negotiation, scope definition and contract design for project procurement where necessary. Assisting with the development of business plans. Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements to ensure the product remains competitive and aligned with market demands.
  • Product Implementation: Support the implementation of VTS products by providing technical guidance to the development team. Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and validation of VTS systems to ensure they meet quality standards and fulfill customer requirements. Planning and assisting with new product releases and events.
  • Customer Support: Act as a point of contact for technical inquiries and issues related to VTS products. Provide timely and accurate responses to customer queries, and offer guidance and solutions to address their concerns. Collaborate with the customer support team to resolve complex technical issues and improve overall customer satisfaction.
  • Stakeholder Management and Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, such as customers, partners, and regulatory authorities, to gather feedback, understand requirements, and align product development with industry standards. Astute in understanding and managing customer requirements, deadlines and business needs. Attend meetings, key conferences, and industry events to stay connected with key stakeholders and industry developments as well as provide thought leadership and promote the company's VTS products.
  • Product Training, Documentation and Demonstrations: Provide support in developing training materials, user manuals, and technical documentation to facilitate the effective use of VTS products. Conduct training sessions and workshops for internal teams, customers, and partners to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the product features and functionalities. 

 
Knowledge and skills we are looking for:  

  • Must possess a solid understanding of port operations domain, related regulations and VTS product. 
  • Possesses critical and creative thinking skills
  • A strong growth mindset and ability to handle complexity
  • Fluent in spoken and written English 
  • Excellent communication (both verbal and written), facilitation, documentation, negotiation, organisational and relationship skills 
  • Articulate and able to perform demonstrations that engage and inspire. 
  • Ability to handle multiple projects with competing deadlines 
  • Customer focused with effective relationship building skills and empathy
  • Answering all product-related questions in a polite manner and addressing queries promptly. 
  • Sees the value in collaborating, knowledge sharing and strategizing with various functions of the organisation. 
  • Extensive experience in Maritime industry and customer service would be advantageous.
