Teaching Assistants For Fall Semester 2023 To The Department Of Electrical Engineering And Automation

Are you interested in working with fellow students and getting work experience in teaching? The Department of Electrical Engineering and Automation is looking for several teaching assistants for the following courses during fall semester 2023:
 

1)    ELEC-E8125 Reinforcement Learning

The teaching assistants are expected to grade exercises and project work, as well as respond to student questions. Applicants should have knowledge of reinforcement learning and have a positive attitude towards helping students.

2)    ELEC-E8101 Digital and Optimal Control

The tasks of the teaching assistants will include preparing teaching material (e.g. slides, programming examples), exam and assignment correction, homework and exercise sessions. Applicants must have successfully attended Digital and Optimal Control course. LaTeX or Python and Matlab skills are considered as an advantage.

3)    ELEC-E8740 Basics of sensor fusion D

The tasks of the teaching assistants will include:

  • Handling exercise sessions:
    There are 10 exercise sessions, and in each of them 3 assignments should be solved by either teaching assistant or students (if it is preferable)

  • Handling project work:
    Teaching assistants should prepare the "project guide" or modify the available one, explain the instruction of the project work in one session in the class, allocate time for students to come to the laboratory and collect data.
     

  • Grading:
    There are 2 exams, about 10 homeworks and 2 reports for project work that should be graded.
     

  • Being in contact with students online using e.g. Zulip:
    During each week the teaching assistants should allocate some time for online discussion with students about homework, exercises, or lectures.

The applicants are expected to have knowledge of linear algebra, mathematical statistics, calculus, sensor fusion systems and Kalman filtering algorithms for solving sensor fusion problem.

4)    ELEC-E8103 Modelling, Estimation, and Dynamic Systems

The teaching assistants are expected to guide several of the (computer) exercises and check the submitted assignments with other assistants. There are 5 exercise weeks distributed in periods I&II, each exercise week contains 4 x 2h exercise sessions. The teaching assistants can guide those sessions together or share the sessions among assistants.
 

The teaching assistants should have taken the course with a very good or excellent mark, or have similar experiences: modeling using ODE, Simulink, regression, and system identification.

The teaching language of all courses is English. Teaching assistants will receive a compensation depending on the workload.
