Wärtsilä has established a new organisation to execute one of the biggest initiatives in years. This initiative is called Nova, a programme that is to renew our existing SAP ERP and introduce new ERP, S/4HANA.

To implement S/4HANA to Wärtsilä, and to enhance processes we are looking now for Global Solution Owner for Finance to join Nova programme. In this role you will be leading a team responsible for holistic implementation of requirements and processes what comes to our new ERP in the area of Finance.

This position is a unique opportunity to really make an impact in Wärtsilä. During the NOVA programme, you will grow to be an expert in SAP S/4 HANA. You have an opportunity to continue helping Businesses to benefit from the latest technology and process improvements when the programme transitions into a sustained operations phase in 2026.

The preferred location for the position is in Finland, either in Vaasa, Turku or Helsinki. But also, other Wärtsilä locations and countries can also be considered.

What you will be doing and what we expect from you?

For us to be the best match, we expect you to have strong backround in Finance and be able to work with different stakeholders, from business Vice President to a technical specialist. As an ideal candidate, you have gained experience from a similar program and have a university level degree. For you to succeed in the position, you must be confident working with processes, have good communication and presentation skills, be able to manage requirements and lead a project team of experts (you have no direct reports).

As Global Solution Owner, you are:

• Leading a cross-functional solution team responsible for implementing functionalities within S/4HANA
• Working together with the S/4HANA system implementation partner in order to ensure implementation of the agreed scope.
• Acting as a change leader boosting organisational change perception, readiness and promoting change management needs
• Responsible for the implementation of requirements from the finance perspective
• Responsible owner of requirements and work backlog
• Responsible that processes related system processes, integrations, data, reporting, analytics and the actual SAP ERP is taken into account when solution is designed to meet given requirements
• Responsible that end-to-end process flow is taken into account holistically when solution is designed
• Responsible on finding commonalities between processes in order simplify ways of working
• Accountable that key changes are identified, impacts analysed and related training plans are in place
• Accountable that all identified needs, painpoints and requirements are addressed
• Consulted when we need to define and describe how processes and people are impacted by SAP ERP solution

In this role you might be required to travel as per Nova project needs, estimated travel time is 1-2 days in a month, typically in Finland.
