The permanent post of RESEARCH DIRECTOR IN INNOVATION RESEARCH is positioned at the Centre for Collaborative Research CCR.

Centre for Collaborative Research CCR unit acts as a horizontal research unit at Turku School of Economics. CCR acts as active researcher unit, interface between academics and companies, and develops and experiments new collaboration methods and innovation activities. We study change and business transformation in different levels: individuals, businesses, industry sectors and in society as a whole. CCR targets to enhancing impactful research both at Turku School of Economics as well as at University of Turku. In addition, CCR is responsible for developing and fostering societal outreach and interaction at Turku School of Economics. Currently 16 researchers work in CCR.

The research area of research director is innovation research, especially socio-technical changes, business disruptions and innovation networks.

The core duties of the Research Director include conducting and supervising scientific research, follow and participate in scientific activities in the field, and contribute to societal and corporate interaction both nationally and internationally.

The Research Director's duties at CCR includes also:

  • Leading and managing the Laboratory of Business Disruption Research group, developing group activities as well as increasing the volume of research.
  • Developing the research group's research project portfolio and actively applying for external research funding.
  • Focusing and positioning the research group’s scientific work within CCR and Turku School of Economics.
  • Acting as principal investigator in research projects and research consortia.
  • Research collaboration both with researchers and corporations.

Laboratory of Business Disruption Research is one of the three research groups of CCR, and focuses on research identifying and understanding disruptive sociotechnical transformations. The goal is to create knowledge, strategies and practices to identify and manage disruptive transformations. Current research focuses for example on enabling novel technologies, sustainability, and culture and mindset. Five researchers currently work in the research group.
