We are looking for a Product Manager, W31 Power Plants to the Product Management team within the Engine Power Plant Technology organisation. As Product Manager you are responsible for the W31 Power Plant family over their entire lifecycle, ensuring the competitiveness and market fit of the products in line with the Energy strategy. This is a strategic role which unites commercial and technical know-how. The ultimate goal of this position is to build the most valuable products for the market to enable the energy transition towards a net zero energy system.

You will be a member of the Product Management team and report to Director, Product Management. We would like you to be based in a European time zone, in proximity of an existing Wärtsilä office.

You will be responsible for:

• Leading the W31 power plant development to ensure competitiveness and market fit of the W31 power plants throughout the entire lifecycle.  
• Setting the product strategies and creating product visions for the W31  power plants to support the Energy strategy.
• Creating roadmaps for W31 power plants in alignment with the Technology Roadmap for Engine Power Plants. Ensure easy-to-access roadmap publications for internal audiences, and routinely arrange communication. 
• Continuously assessing and evaluating product profitability within own domain
• Managing a broad range of stakeholders of the product and continuously driving improvements of collaboration.  
• Proactively and systematically collecting customer feedback, lessons learned from delivery projects, win/loss analysis, market trends and product quality feedback and translating all this information into prioritized plans
• Owning and sponsoring relevant product development projects. Analysing, prioritising and documenting requirements for new product development projects and ensuring there is a solid business case.
• Presenting the products & solutions to internal audiences and at external events. Creating product sales & marketing strategies together with marketing and sales.
• Establishing a clear strategy for Configure-to-Order vs Engineer-to-Order content for W31 Power Plants

To be successful in this role, you:

• Have professional experience of product management, preferably combined with business development.  You have a solid understanding of business cases and sales- & go-to market strategies
• Are a strong collaborator; you can manage a large span of stakeholders and lead virtual teams
• Have a strong understanding of the energy market key trends, with ability to translate these into strategic product roadmaps and clear plans. You preferably have a good understanding of power generation and power plants.
• Are able to simplify complexity and give clear and to-the-point presentations
• Are able to think out-of-the-box and challenge conventional ways of working
• Have a strategic mindset and work with scenarios. You see the big picture and plan for the future

• Product success rate in target markets
• Order intake, net sales & profitability (Ebit)
