We are looking for a Software Engineer Trainee, AIwho will be working with Elisa Research team. The main responsibility will be to develop a software extracting topics and trends from public scientific sources.

We hope that you can start as soon as possible and work with us foruntil end of the year 2023.After this period, there is a good chance to continue your career with us as a full-time research/software professional.

Key responsibilities on this role:

• Study available frameworks, tools or libraries using latest generative AI technologies to extract insights, for example, topics and trends, from unstructured text data (research papers, articles, reviews, abstracts).
• Develop a software to automatically extract insights from public scientific sources. This software will be used internally by research team to identify disruptive topics from academic community.
• Partner closely with technical and business units for continuous feedback.

We expect you to have:

• Knowledge about Software development principles, like object-oriented programming, unit and integration testing, version control, etc.
• Experience of machine learning and natural language processing.
• Familiarity with Python, Web Services and REST APIs.
• Fluent communication skills in English
• A constant desire to grow, learn, and explore new things in the field of AI and machine learning.

We also appreciate if you have:

• Previous AI relevant work experience or self-interest projects.
• Familiarity with web applications, Linux-based applications, terminal command environments.

You can work flexibly in Finland, but most of the key stakeholders are in Pasila office, so we prefer if you can at least part of the week work at the Elisa HQ in Pasila (Helsinki).
