We are looking for an Engineering Lead with backend background and exceptional skills in product development. 

Ideal candidate will be a technical leader supporting a team consisting approx. 5 engineers including iOS and Unity experts. The area of responsibility stretches from typical API development to contributing to the 3d reconstruction data pipeline.

What you’ll be doing

• Own delivery and operations of the backend service(s) powering Varjo Teleport.
• Guide and support Team of engineers in building customer-facing experiences.
• Use Python, Docker, Aurora Postgres, various AWS services and more to develop backend cloud solution(s).
• Ensure our roadmap balances delivering value to our users with maintaining technical debt.
• Take accountability for what you build. Have pride in building unit and regression tests to prove that your code and solutions truly work.
• Collaborate with a cross-functional team (Product, Design) to deliver an innovative product to end-users.

Who we are looking for

• You are motivated by building what users really need.
• You make responsible technology choices, taking on risk where appropriate and choosing predictability where appropriate.
• Years of hands-on experience with operating services in AWS 
• Proven track record of shipping working products to end-users.
• Strong ability to collaborate with Product Managers and Engineers specialised in other disciplines.
• Ability to explain complex topics to people without the same expertise. Lead through influence and by example. Be open-minded, self-reflective and growth oriented.
